PLAY GUIDE

Skill

Skills can be easily performed by pressing the R1 button by itself or with a corresponding directional button. After performing a skill, its respective icon will be temporarily darkened until it can be used again. Plus skills (labeled with a +) are powerful versions of skills that can be performed at the cost of a much longer cooldown, so choose your timing wisely!

Variation
Press the △ button when performing a skill to use a stronger version with the trade-off of a slower recovery time compared to the □ version.
Plus Skills (+)
Press the 〇 button when performing a skill to use its plus version. Plus skills generally deal more damage and have faster start-up times, making them perfect for combo finishers. However, their cooldowns are much longer, so don't throw them out haphazardly!
Skill Icon
Once a skill has been activated, its respective icon will be temporarily darkened and needs to cool down until it can be used again.

Triple Attack

Repeatedly press an attack button when near a foe to perform a two-hit double attack or a three-hit triple attack. By quickly inputting the command for a skill during the last hit, you can chain your attacks into a skill for a basic bread-and-butter combo!

Triple Attack (Low)
Triple Attack (Overhead)
During the second hit of a triple attack, you can press →+△ to change the last hit to a low attack or →+〇 to change the last hit to an overhead! Although these hits cannot be chained into additional attacks, try and use them to catch a foe off guard and break their defense!

Dash Attack

Quickly close the gap with these attacks that can be performed while dashing—keep your foes guessing with different variations using light, medium, and heavy attacks.

Dash Attack (Light)
Dash in with a light dash attack for a quick and easy way to go on the offensive.
Dash Attack (Medium)
Dash in with a mid- or low-hitting medium dash attack to put your foes on notice. Properties will vary between characters—Use Gran's for a low-hitting sweep attack to break your foe's defense while closing in!
Dash Attack (Heavy)
Dash in with a heavy blow. Although it is the slowest of the three options, it can be chained into a combo for serious damage!
